A rant

As guild leader I am constantly reviewing applications and looking up people.  On top of that, I am reviewing the raid members often.  Aside from the people with low gear, the biggest issue I find is that people just aren't familiar with the requirements of their class.

Half the time I can figure this out by simply looking them up on armory or be.imba and see their gear choices and enchants and etc.  Not to mention their spec.

People who are serious about raiding will app to you with serious looking toons.  But all too often it seems to me that people app thinking that what they learned from leveling 1-70 is good enough knowledge for end game raiding.

Although, I know that anyone reading this is probably already taking their toon serious when it comes to raiding I'll spend the next few days talking about where to go for each class/spec to learn more about your toon.  Coming to a raid prepared means way more than having the right consumables, and surviving means knowing what the hell you are doing in the first place.  Just because you can two shot a level 70 non-elite mob while farming primals doesn't mean you can do crap against a raid boss.
