WoW Consumables #3: Elixir's
Elixir's are the most common form of consumables and also can provide the most beneficial of buffs for raiding. A majority of Elixir's are obtained via Alchemy but a few can be done via quests(IE - Winterfall E'ko quest).
There are two types of Elixir's, Battle and Guardian, and only one of each type may be active on a character at any given time. There are a handful of other elixirs, such as Noggenfogger Elixir and Elixir of Water Breathing which do not fall under a classification and so do but take up an Elixir slot.
Battle Elixir's generally buff your offensive attributes while Guardian generally buff your defensive attributes. Most Elixir's last 1 hour but do not persist through death.
