Be an Ensidia Player.

This weekend I was hanging out on Twitter and saw Ensidia post that they are recruiting. So I retweeted for them with the comment "too bad I'm not EU and a better player".

So what does it take to be an Ensidia quality player?

Let's take a look at their recruitment post.

A couple of pointers and requirements that you need to read before you apply:
We expect nothing but the highest performance from our players.
Be prepared to play long hours in an environment that does not suffer poor players for very long.
You need to be able to handle criticism and improve on any mistakes you make.
A high standard of English is expected since it is the main language within the guild. If you cannot understand and communicate well, both in written and spoken English, then please do not apply. This includes using Ventrilo and a microphone.

You only get the chance to make a good first impression once, don't screw it up! Your previous raiding experience is a huge part of your application. Having done most high level instances is a huge bonus, especially having cleared Sunwell before 3.0. Mention all this in detail in your application. We do not like to tell people specifically what to write in applications so what you write is up to you. Make sure, however, that you include links to your armory,WWS and a screenshot of your UI.
So they aren't asking specific questions and only mention a few basic requirements. Easy right?

Well the difference between what you read and what you really need to be is the knowledge of the guild. Ensidia is #1 in the world, no questions asked. They got world first Yogg-Saron kill well before anyone else AND since they are EU they started 24 hours later than any US guild. The quality of their players are supreme. Take the best players you have played with and chances are most of them wouldn't cut it. Ensidia (and guilds like them) are super competitive too. Chances are that if you screw up even once you get sat out and if you do it again your done.

But this post isn't about how amazing they are and how you aren't. Instead it's about how you can be more like one of these players. Since I don't actually have contact with specific players from these top guilds I more or less have to guesstimate so forgive me if my assumptions aren't exactly true.

1) Be the best player at your class that you know - I'm not talking a mindset of oh look I am better than so and so. I am talking a mindset of "Am I doing everything correct?" If you are the former then more than likely you aren't very good at your class. Working with others of your class will help improve your play. You will find both ways to play better and way to not play by working with others like you.

2) Be the best at your role that you know - Exactly the same as the first but this time for your role. You may play a class that is considered inferior than others. Show everyone that it's not necessarily true.

3) Research, research, research - Know the fights inside and out. Know your class inside and out. Follow every helpful blog that you can think of that will help you out in improving your playing.

4) Show up to ever raid prepared to wipe and wipe and wipe and wipe until it's done. Ensidia may have gotten these bosses down first before anyone else but they spent tons of time on the PTR wiping and wiping and wiping to try new strategies until they knew how it was going to go. Not only did they try their own they also researched how everyone was doing it. And it wasn't just the officers of the guild, it was EVERYONE. Once they got to live they spend long days making sure those strategies worked and if they didn't then they tried something different.

5) Pretend your the raid leader even if you aren't - I don't mean try to take over leading the raids. What I mean is put yourself in the raid leaders shoes. Think about what has to be done for EVERYONE. Do you know what the healers should be doing? Do you see something wrong that maybe the leader can't because he's across the room? Be his eyes and let him know that you see something. Don't be a jerk about it. Remember, it's not your raid to lead. Help but don't take over.

6) Don't complain, ever - Constructive criticism is one thing. Complaining is another. People who complain or give up after even a 3 hour night of constant wipes don't help moral. Not only that, they don't get anything accomplished. It brings focus from progression to failure and that is not good for a raid team because it spreads. Don't be the person who started it. Yes progression is costly and you're going to pay for it. A lot! If I had to guess Ensidia's repair cost to be world first was probably about 5,000g per person over the course of the progression (including the PTR learning sessions).

7) Handle criticism well - Your guild may not be the type of guild that even gives criticism but when someone actually does say something to you about how you play or something you did or whatever don't retorte with, "Well you are the most stupid tank I've ever seen." People may not word things perfectly (/raises hand) but most of the time they are just trying to help out in their own way.

8) Don't sell yourself short - Are you in a place where you can be great? No matter how good you are do you always get set aside for an older member that just performs not as good? As a GM I hate to see people leave but I understand completely when someone outgrows a guild. Personally I stick with it because for me just my personal performance isn't good enough, it's the whole guild. If my guild can consist of players who are playing the best they can then as a team we can progress.

Ok so a list post probably didn't make sense necessarily but it did in my head. The common denominator here is of course is to be the best that you can be and do it with humility. Your best way of improving yourself is to do exactly what you are doing now, reading up blogs and websites that help. Follow those bloggers that make sense to your topic, get on twitter and chat with the WoW Twitter community, read all those statistic sites that say such and such spell does this because of this and so forth. Know why you are speccing into the most popular spec, don't just do it because it's the most popular.

WoW Patch 3.0: Time to respec

So patch 3.0 is coming out today. We get to sit around for hours twiddling our thumbs waiting for it to get implemented and then it's a free for all. We get our talent points refunded to us and now it's time to respec.

Since you are going to be asked by guildies the information that you do not currently have in your head, and I'm sure you don't want to do all the research ahead of time, here is a great post by Anna of the Too Many Annas blog. Be sure to send everyone you need to first to my blog and then to these other great blogs to help them out with their specs. Keep in mind a lot of things have changes since even October 8th when this post happened but it at least will steer people in the right direction as most changes have been updated in subsequent blogs on the various sites.

If you have any other sites to add to the list provided by Anna then feel free to post a comment for others to see here on my blog.

WoW Blizzcon News - Day 2

The picture to the right is Friday nights costume contest winner.  Looks like she really put a lot into it, great job and congratulations. Now, back to the topic.

Blizzcon Day 2 was a very quiet day. There was almost no news and certainly no amazing revelations like what was hoped for. I don't really have much to talk about today because there was not a whole lot that would pertain to GM's.

There was a Raid's and Dungeons Panel that garnered some information. Most information pertained to specific instances or encounters in the expansion(which i will not talk about until it gets closer to actually mattering for us). In fact the only information that would help benefit anyone is that the LFG system is going to be revamped and that they are thinking of making an AFK feature that will kick people form the instance without having to wait the 30 minutes for them to get disconnected(which you can do right now anyways by removing them from the raid, letting them ghetto hearth).

There was another Developer Q&A session today too but the only real non-class related information that came form that is that you will no longer be dismounted in water, the mounts will instead swim.

A second Class Discussion Panel happened today where they gave a little more information about the Dual Spec. Action bars will be saved with the specs so that you don't have to redo all your key bindings between specs. Also the Glyph system will be tied in with the system so that you will automatically switch glyphs based on the spec. They are really making this whole system very streamlined and almost too easy.

That concludes all that was Blizzcon 2008, here's to hoping next year is more interesting. Man I am glad I didn't go, I think all I'd be writing about these few days is how I want to pummel peopel because I stood in line for 18 hours to get a stuffed Murloc(I hate Murlocs!).

As a side note I participated in a live chat during All Things Azeroth's podcast on Friday. It was running during some of the announcements at Blizzcon. I did all my comments via text but you can hear the responses to what I had to say in the podcast, check it out here.

WoW Blizzcon News - Day 1

Some of you may have been there, some may have been keeping up with the news by friends(like I was), some maybe even got the DirectTV broadcast(which from what I hear cut out a lot), and yet some of you may not know anything about the goings on of Blizzcon.

For all you noobs out there Blizzcon is the annual Blizzard Convention held in California(because they are too cheap to do it on the east coast). Usually at this even there is much hype of the brand new games or expansions that Blizzard is coming out with. Normally there is some major announcement that they wait until this day to tell people. Oh and of course there is always lots and lots of lines to get your swag or to play that new hyped expansion or game. And you get to watch people as they walk around dressed up as their favorite World of Warcraft or Diablo or Indiana Jones(oh wait he wasn't created by Blizzard?) characters.

Unlike past year this year's announcements were pretty bleh. I am happy that I didn't care to want to go to Blizzcon this year(not much of a convention guy to tell you the truth, maybe if it were say in New England). The ultra major news they released at their opening ceremonies was that the Wizard class would be playable for Diablo 3. /yawn I personally have never gotten into Diablo myself but even people who did play it thought that wasn't a good enough announcement.

For us WoW fans though we did get some announcements in the form of the Class Panel discussion held later in the day with Tom "Kalgan" Chilton and Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street("There is a rumour on the forums that I'm a hot chick. You know it's true!"). I'm not going to talk about specific class changes, if you want info on that then visit WoW Insider's live-blog or the shortened version at MMO Champion.

I just want to hone in on the things that will effect us for raiding. The largest announcement for us in this session was the announcement of the ability to dual spec. Now not all details were given out at this so don't get too too excited just yet but the announcement is well received by us anyways.

What is Dual Spec? Well from the discussion today it's the ability to hold two separate specs and interchange them when needed. This will let people change their spec at whim without physically going back to the trainer. There was no mention as to how this will be implemented or if it will cost more gold. This will not be able to be used in the middle of arena matches though so no "OMG it's a Ret pally, spec ferlol!" moments, sorry. Dual specs will not mean just one set of gear although it will still mean certain classes will be able to do it without carrying more gear(IE - shadow priest to holy priest).

So how does this help us? Well the obvious. The "I need 3 tanks to kill all this trash to BigBossDude but he is a one tank fight", the "o crap, master healman has dc'd but we are on fast trash timers here", the "man you suck as resto, go boomkin and be useful" moments come to mind. Now you can have everyone come prepared for two specs and never have to cancel a raid because you are missing something but have a plethora of another. This is great news for the single player as well as the raid leaders!

Oh but there is more, the panel also has brung to light the reason why they are making all these class spec changes. "Bring the player, not the class" is their new motto. They don't want to make ability's so overpowered that you need to cancel the raid and they don't want it so that only one class has it. One example to this is that feral druids and warriors now have a viable aoe tanking ability. They want to make skill and gear worth more than buffs("Jimmy can't come ->No Wind Fury -> Cancel the raid")or potions(Potion lockouts, drum lockouts, etc). Buffs will not stack anymore but aura's and most buffs are raid wide. There will be multiple ways to get the same benefit which means you will have more room to bring who you want, rather than who you need. They want us to bring good players, not have to suffer with sitting out the good ones while the ones that need to learn are inside.. learning.

Lastly(I know you have already reached the TL;DR phase), they are making the game have less emphasis on threat. They rather have fights have emphasis on moving around and healing, not halting all dps cause the tank has not enough aggro. No more staring at aggro and waiting 5 minutes while your Pally builds up enough threat for you to cast 3 frostbolts and wait again. Now you wait a few seconds and unleash hell!

Some of this stuff is coming out with the new patch, some we will have to wait for a while, but all of it spells some great changes for us to look forward to. Raiding with these new changes is going to be exciting and it will really lend opportunity to some interesting fights for them to come up with rather than the same old stuff with a new model(not that it wont happen anyways).

Thanks for sticking with me through this long one. If tomorrow brings more pertinent info from Blizzcon I will try to keep updated. Until then, back to your regular scheduled blog.

WoW Target Dummies

Last few nights I have been with on the PTR testing out specs and getting a feel for how raiding might be once this patch hits. Mainly we've been running Kara and just doing whatever it takes to push our limits. So far we've 3 manned Attumen and 5 manned the rest of Kara and that's with us trying to overdo ourselves with chain pulling non-stop and pulling extra groups at a time and just overall doing stupid things that sometimes cause us to wipe.

Aside from me having threat issues when swipe tanking everything is definitely looking to be a huge improvement for us in the near future.

Halfway through Kara tonight, my DPS warrior(who is too OP with his new tilt-a-whirl ability IMO) was like you know you can test your dps on the new target dummies, right? I'm like target dummies? What target dummies?(ok so maybe slightly less valley girlish but hey). So after we stopped our long heroic for the night at Curator, three of us who weren't tired went and beat on these target dummies until late in the evening. It was great.
Why didn't Blizzard think of this beforehand?! I mean you have all these NPC's in Theramore and other places beating on them, you would think that it would be useful for us to. Previously the only real way to test ranged DPS was Dr. Boom in Netherstorm or random elites with someone tanking and healing for melee.

These guys, however, you can do almost anything with.. They can be rooted, frost nova'd, almost anything. They don't fight back, take full debuffs and bleeds, act like normal mobs with parry and dodge, and etc. The only drawback is that for tanks they don't let you test things because you are constantly rage starved.
There is a set of them in any major city(none in Shatt that I could find), and they have level 60,70,80 and the skull heroic ones. Personally I think the Heroic ones are level 80 raid bosses because I was hitting for crap on them but maybe it's because they didn't have any raid debuffs on them.

Why does a guild leader care about these?
Well besides the obvious of telling your guild members about them so they know they have something to beat on for hours it's a great way to test new(or old) members to see where they fall in line. Without the craziness of the raid to concentrate on or the raid damage killing people you can sit down and feasibly look at people and how they are playing their classes. Are they doing a normal rotation? Using their cooldowns wisely?

Once you test them you can give them real feedback as to how well they are doing in relation to others and what they can change besides the obvious gear/enchant/gem choices.

This is a superb guild leaders tool and I plan on using it often once this patch hits. My bet is that I am going to increase the performance of at least a few guild members, and that could make the difference between winning and losing our quest to Illidan before WOTLK.

WoW Class Research: Summary

In case you missed your specific class(or if you are new to here and didn't know I  posted in the first place) here is the links to the previous posts.

Here are some other useful sites which are good for all/most classes that I may have not mentioned during each class post.

WoWinsider - A general WoW blog. They talk about everything.  And it's huge with tons of entries per day.  You can find info on classes along with other wow related things.

Elitist Jerks Class Mechanics Forum - I did post links to a lot of the posts here but this is a forum with high brained discussion of classes.  If you are ready to learn the numbers and EXACTLY what it takes to be the best then this is the best place for it.

WoWwiki - I also posted links to here too.  This is a great place to start out for any class and it has basic information(and sometimes more detailed) for practically everything in the game.

WoW Official Forums - You didn't think I'd leave this off?  I posted links to every single class forum in my previous posts, but there are so many more forums to find info from here too in case you are looking for something other than for your class.

MMO-Champion - They focus in on what is going on in the Beta(at least right now they are) so you can keep up to date with the goings on of what may come soon.

WoW Class Research: Warrior

Last and certainly not least(that distinction of course goes to Pally's :P) is the Warrior.  Those beefy toons that have all that plate armor and beat things up(or more importantly get beat up so you don't have to).  And pretty soon they get to be more scary with their dual wielding of two hand axes.  Can't wait to have a warrior charge me with two axes of doom the size of a large tree.

WoW Official Warrior Forum - Last one, I swear!

The Protection Warrior Guide - Elitist Jerks Tanking Warrior post.
DPS Warrior Compendium - EJ Arms/Fury Warrior post.

Warrior Class Guide - Some decent info, some info that will be outdated soon but who knows, maybe the will update it.  Every warrior in my guild forwarded me to the EJ posts so i guess those are the best anyways.

WoW Class Research: Warlock

Warlocks are evil, they are supposed to be. That's why mine is only a 29 twink who destroys everyone in PvP. I love it, but just never decided to bring him up higher than 29. I don't want to start losing lol. Like Rogues, Warlocks are feared(lol) in PvP. In PvE they are just as useful, becoming one of the top dps classes in your raids.

The Warlocks Den - Evil purple place of doom!! Only fit for those who kill things just because they can.

Official WoW Warlock Forum - Where the bad people go to talk to other bad people.

Warlock PvE Raiding Compendium - Elitist Jerks Raiding Warlock Post.  Good detailed info for raiders.

WoW Class Research: Shaman

Ah the Shammy, everyones favorite class, except hardly anyone plays them. One of the best healers(actually all healers can be considered the best[same with tanks but I'll talk about that later sometime]), great dps in two of it's specs, and great raid buffage no matter what group they are in. Shamans are the ultimate support class in the game. Like many, I do not have a Shammy but one of my officers is one so have garnered some info from him.

ShammyWiki - For whatever reason the few wiki's that I have found for the various classes have had the same style of website. This is the same look as the druid one but only has Shammy info, of course. Great resource.

WoW Official Shaman forum - The best official class forum I have come upon to date. Lots of great info and less flaming of each other in this one.

Restoration Bible - Elitist Jerks Resto post.
Elemental Bible - EJ Elemental post.
Enhancement Bible - EJ Enhancement post.

Crazy Shaman's DPS and AEP calculator - Enhancement website with a big title.

WoW Class Research: Rogue

Rogues, those wily being from under the sea.  Everyone hates them in PvP, but they also have their uses in PvE as well.

Official WoW Rogue forum - This one doesn't have many stickies as most classes do(in fact the only ones it has are the forum rules one) but good place to sift through to find info and to get your questions answered.

Wowwiki Rogue - Again, not the most informative of all posts but it at least gives you something to build off of.

Wowinsider Rogue Guides - List of a bunch of rogue guides sorted based on what you are currently tryin go do with your rogue.  Good resource for rogues.

Roguecraft 101 - Elitist Jerks Rogue forum.  Great info for raiding rogues to start out so they know the info needed for gear, spec, and rotation.

Rogue DPS spreadsheet - Helpful site to help maximize your dps as a rogue.

WoW Class Research: Priest

Priest is another class I do not have the distinction of to have played. But my long time leveling partner and officer leveled up his priest alongside my druid so I have some experience through that.

Here's the goodies:
WoWwiki Priest Entry - I have been putting this up a lot for the various classes. Some classes the entries are better than others but this is always a great place to start the research for all classes.
Priest's Dictionary - To help you out with all the abreviations.
WoW Priest Forums - I did not disappoint, as promised the priest forums.
ShadowPriest.com - Obviosuly for the all you Holy priests out there. (actually there is a very informative Holy forum on this site)
Holy Raiding Compendium V2 - Elitist Jerks Holy Priest post. For the more advanced.
The Egotistical Priest - Priest blog that is current. Not a lot of talk about the expansion because she doesn't want to start talking about stuff and having it all change later. Sort of why I've held back my talking of it. Nice blog, if I were a priest I'd tap.. err read that!
*Thanks to Oleon of No Vacancy for providing some of the suggestions for today's post.

WoW Class Research: Paladin

I have been told that I need to keep my flaming of Pally's to a minimum(curse you, and you know who you are!!).

I refuse to play a pally cause I have a underlying hate(not really) for them. So this info is not from my personal experience.

Wowwiki Paladin section - Great for finding out basic info for what you might want to have as a pally of any spec. Good to build off of.

WoW Paladin Official Forums - In case you haven't figured what it is since I've posted every other one too.

Main Tankadin - Some tanking website for Pallys.

Tankadin.com - Another tanking website for Pallys.

wowpaladin.org - Catch all Paladin website. Setup sort of like a blog and sort of like a traditional website. Bunch of decent info.

Ardent Defender - Tanking Pally blog. well put together and talks about now and then.

The Healadin Thread - Elitist Jerks Healadin thread. Good for delving into the deeper parts of the class.

Pallypower instructions - Because every damn Pally has no clue how to buff!! ARGHH!!

*Thanks to Xlark from No Vacancy for her suggestions on todays posts. Bear > Pally still though!

WoW Class Research: Mage

Mage is another class that I have played.  In fact, it's the class that I am currently working towards getting to 70.  Right now he is 65 and I sort of hit a wall where I haven't put much time into playing him.  I haven't quite got to the point where I am gearing him up for raiding but I have done some research here and there.

WoW Mage Forums - How to pewpew and QQ all in one spot!

EJ Mage Sweet Information - Much detailed information for mages.

Wowwiki Mage Thingy - To tell you the truth almost all of my info has come from this spot for leveling my mage.  In fact, it is probably the single best resource for most classes, especially for starting out.  Go here first for basic info then go to the above for extra info.

Surprisingly enough I couldn't find any up to date mage blogs.  I'm sure there are good ones out there, just didn't find them.  Let me know about some that you use and I will gladly post em up.

WoW Class Research: Hunter

Like practically everyone on my server I have a hunter alt. Technically I have two, one I used to help my wife learn her hunter as she leveled up and the other my wife's main which she gave up on after she hit 70 cause there was nothing else to do for her. So I use the 70 hunter now and my 41 hunter rots as a smithing/mining alt who never leaves Ironforge.

Aside from farming and creating all the guilds elixirs, her primary function, I have done some Kara runs with her and even one or two Gruuls runs. I finally got her gear level to 200 be.imba which means she is finally recruitable by our guild. Not going to happen but hey. Anyways, here are some sites I've used.

Hunter wiki - Same format as the Druid wiki site. Good all encompassing website

WoW Hunter forums - Yes, I am going to put the WoW forum links for every class. Why, because it's one of the best resources out there. It could be your only resource if you were willing to ask the questions on the forums.

Big Red Kitty - Probably one of the most famous WoW blogs out there and it's strictly for hunters. Very very good resource for hunters. (Oh, and he's from my server so bonus!)

Petopia - For all that info you wanted on your favorite pet or how to get a better pet or something about Cooper*

The Hunter's Mark - Another hunter blog. Well laid out and still talking about current topics as well as patch/beta topics

*Cooper is not a topic on this website.

WoW Class Research: Druid

I apologize for the delay in this post, I have had some personal matters to attend to along with a bit of writers block on this subject. Within a few weeks a patch will be coming out for WoW that will change the way all classes will be played and geared so my original intentions of helping people figure out best raid spec, raid gear choices, enchants, etc will be worthless in no time. Instead I will spend the next few days just giving classes a few websites they can go to find out more information on how to play the class/spec now and in the near future.

Lets start with Druids, 1) cause it's what I play and 2) cause it's first alphabetically. Druids also give us a good starting place because they can be every classes spring board if you want to get ahead of my posts.

Druid Wiki - "a compilation of guides and information on just about every aspect of the Druid class in World of Warcraft." personally I find more information on Feral than anything there."

WoW Druid Forums - Especially important now that things are changing with the patch. Lot of great info there.

Feral Druid Megathread - I'm sure there are some for the other specs too but since I am feral and always have been I only have bookmarks to feral stuff, sorry. This is a work in progress thread which has all that mathematical info you don't care about(or sometimes you do).

The Druids Grove - A site I used back in my EQ days back when druids were different. They have WoW stuff too now. Yaya!

Resto4Life - You got it. It's a blog for resto druids. It's a good one too.

Big Bear Butt - It's a feral druid blog but the letters are all small so I cant read it from far away like most sites. Advantage is that he writes like me, long winded. Good info though too and has been writing for a while. Often goes to other non-druid topics which can be helpful for others too.

Of Teeth and Claws - Another feral druid blog. Stays pretty well on topic and is definitely delving into pertinent information for the upcoming patch and expansion.

Unbearably Hot - Yet another Feral blog. Seems to be pretty close with the Resto4Life blogger so they share some posts at times. Another great resource.

Gray Matter - Ok I admit, I have absolutely no experience as boomkin. I don't even have an offset boomkin set so I had to search around for this site. It looks decent though and he does two things, talks a lot like me and does topic posts like me(ie - WoW Class Research - Druid)

There is definitely a lot of info out there so if these don't help then go to Yahoo or Google or whatever site you use to search things up and look for it.

WoW Addons #2 - Class Addons

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm going to talk a little baout class specific addons. There of course a million addons out there and umpteen amount of them are class addons so I'm not going to delve into all of them. Being as I don't even play every class in the game I can't give a great representation of all the addons out there from personal experience. But from research and personal experience combined I'll put up a few that people might find useful. I'll also group up some class types at the end of the post so I'm not putting up the same addon for like specs(IE - tanks and healers). I'm making an attempt to only put up addons which will help with raiding, not addons like CritLine which aren't that useful in raiding respects.

Druid:

Outfitter - This addon is a must for those of us who choose a class which requires a million gear changes all the time. You can save different sets for whatever reason you might have and interchange those with a click of a button. You can also set it to automatically do that but a lot of the times that screws you up more than it helps as you get stuck in the wrong gear for the wrong occasion often.

Druidbar - I just found this one and I'm not sure why i never looked before. It shows your mana while in cat/bear form. Really useful for powershifters or tanks like me who pull with moonfire and find with chain pulling and no good mana regen that I can pull and be stuck in caster form by accident.

Hunters:

Personally I don't use any addons for my hunter that are hunter specific but a good one that is useful is Zhuntermod. Helps with organization and such. I'm sure a more seasoned hunter has specific mods but mine is only used for farming.

Sorren's Easy Rotations - Helps you with your hot rotations to get that extra edge (and makes it so you don't just have to spam 1).

SimpleMD - This one requires the other hunters to have the addon but it lets the hunters know when the hunter Misdirect cooldowns are up so there is no failures on overlapping.

Mage:

Dagassist - While useful for others, sorta, it's greatly useful for a mage. It gives you a dropdown where you can cast your ports and open your tradeskills and such. Cleans up those hotbars like a pro!

Cryolysis - Give syou a circle thing that you can use to do about everything.. I personally didn't find this addon that useful but I know mages who swear by it.

Paladin:

PallyPower - I've already harped on this last post but it is such a great addon that I had to include it.

Priest:
Not much a shadow priest needs specifically that I could find. I don't own a priest alt.

Prayer of Mending Tracker - Tracks your Prayer of Mending, duh!

Rogue:

I'm sure there are some that some rogues use but don't they just turn on auto attack and kill things?

Shaman:

TotemTimers - Keeps tracks of your totems timers and lets you put them down when they are about to expire.

Shaman Friend - Gives you a lot of Shaman related dohickeys. (Can you tell I don't play a shaman?)

Warlock:

The ones I knew about seem to be out of date so I don't want to give out ones that don't work anymore. There are some out there though.

Warrior:

StanceSets - Helps you switch Mainhand, offhand, and ranged based on your stance so you can quickly switch from dps to tanking or etc.

Tanks:

Damnation - This one is great because it automatically removes Salvation from you when you get into bear form, defensive stance, etc(or if you are already in those forms/stances). That way if there is a reason you need to be in bear form you are going to be able to get that threat much faster without having to thumb around looking for the salv that was cast on you.

TankPoints - To let you compare gear to make sure you are staying above the needed caps for encounters.

Healers:

Healbot Sucks. The top healers in No Vacancy use X-perl + Clique for their healing. I've heard others use Grid instead of X-perl.

DPS:

Quartz - Helps with maximizing your dps. For casters is lets you know when you can cast again based off of your connection speed. For melee it gives you your swing/shot timer so you can time your yellow damage and not lose too much of your white.

Most Everyone:

SmartBuff/SmartDebuff - They can be downloaded seperately for those classes that can buff but cant debuff or vice versa. This lets you buff your party members by rolling the mouse wheel backwards, it can also be setup for other various things. It gives you a warning when buffs on other peopel are going to wear out so you can stay on top of it too. SmartDebuff gives you a small frame where you can right or left click those who have the debuff and it will remove it.

Decursive - Does the same thing as SmartDebuff. I've just used SDB for a long time so I never used this one but I know most of the debuffers in the guild use this one so had to include it.

ControlFreak - Makes crowd controlling cake. Puts a movable box on your screen where you can set the sheep/banish/etc target and keep it CC'd while you dps on your current target. Shows a countdown of when it will wear off and makes a noise at you when it breaks.

DurabilityStatus - Very small window that lets you know where you armor is at and if you hover over it you will know how much your repairs will cost.

MinimapButtonBag - Takes all of these addons that I'm giving you and puts the minimap buttons that you have accrued into one single button.

Tommorrow I will finish up my addon section by chatting about External "addons".
